Rourkela: The 91st Birthday of Lata Mangeshkar was celebrated through online music concert ‘Meri Awaaz Hi Pehchaan Hai’, here on Monday.
A number of timeless classics of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar were presented with aplomb by talented Steel City singers Basavadutta Mohanty and Tapan Nayak.
The online concert, ‘Meri Awaaz Hi Pechaan Hai’, studded with mellifluous songs was streamed live on social media and was joined by thousands of fans of the nightingale of Indian Cinema from across different countries.
The show commenced with the mellifluous rendition of ‘Wo bhuli dastan’ of the film ‘Sanjog’ by Basavadutta which was followed by another classical song ‘Baiy nana dharo’ from the film ‘Dastak’ by her. Thereafter songs like Jhil mil sitaron ka anganhoga, Suno sajna, Sawan ka mahina, Aaja re pardeshi, Ye dil tum bin kahin lagta nahin, Kora kagaztha ye man mera, Piya bina piya bina, Ye raat bhigee bhigee, rahe na rahe hum, Jab hum jawanhonge, Hum bane tum bane and many other songs took the web audience down the memory lane to the golden era of Indian music.
Tapan Nayak supported in the duets with most mesmerizing voice. Both the singers kept the audience captivated throughout the evening. The duo also paid rich tributes to the legendary singer S P Balsubramanyam by rendering one of his super hit songs from ‘Ek duje kel iye’.
