Rourkela: Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has supplied customized pipes to L & T for use in construction of Buxar Thermal Plant.
RSP had bagged the challenging order to supply 2100 metres of 32 inches diameter ‘rust preventive coating at inside and outside surface of pipe’ to L & T Ltd. which will be used in Buxar Thermal Power Plant. The Pipe Plant (SW) successfully manufactured the lot and completed the supply in August, 2021. It is worth mentioning here that the customer has expressed high Satisfaction with the product.
ESP has been making consistent efforts to add more value to its products to cater to the niche market. The pioneer Pipe making unit of the country, Pipe Plant (Spiral Welded) of RSP has introduced rust preventive coating on the inside surface of the pipe in addition with the rust preventive external coating for the first time since inception. The initiative has helped the Steel Plant to enrich its product basket in the highly competitive market. It is noteworthy that the latest initiative is in line with the market centric approach of the company to cater to the demands of the customers. There are very few manufacturers to have the technical knowhow of coating the inside surface of the pipes. With the effort, RSP has entered the select group of Pipe makers with such a distinctive feature. Notably, the Steel Plant was constantly receiving feedback from the marketing division about such pipe orders in SW pipe segment. To tap the opportunity in the new segment, RSP swiftly adopted specific measures. It identified manpower from its rich human resource pool and developed them to execute the job in the most cost effective manner.
It is worth mentioning that Pipe Plant (SW) pioneers in producing large diameter pipes and has been consistently displaying its efficiency by executing the critical orders in the market.
