Bhubaneswar: Soumya Patnaik, the editor of Odisha’s largest circulated Odia daily Sambad Wednesday said, “Sambad, is now not only just a newspaper but has turned into a people’s movement. Sambad will continue to remain the voice of the common man.”
He was speaking at the 33rd Anniversary of Sambad newspaper, here at Jaydev Bhawan.
Patnaik, who is also the chairman of Sambad Group, the largest media conglomerate of the state, said that the newspaper is not only keep people informed but also take up CSR activities like any steel company to improve the condition of the people and the environment.
The managing director of the media house, Monica Nayyar Patnaik, thanked her colleagues and associates for their contribution to the paper’s 33-year long journey.
The executive director, Tanaya Patnaik, spoke about the challenges and future growth areas of the media house.
The largest circulated vernacular daily was born way back on October 4, in 1984. Presently, Sambad has eight editions, each in different parts of the State.
Sambad Groups’s television channel, Kanak News, also completes eight years of its existence on Wednesday.
On the occasion, Soumya Patnaik, unveiled its new logo.
