Bhubaneswar: An interactive session on E-Shram portal, an initiative of government of India for unorganized workers was conducted at the HRD Centre of Excellence of Nalco at here, recently
The session was addressed by D.P.S. Negi, chief labour commissioner (Central) along with Shakuntala Pattnaik, deputy chief labour commissioner (Central) in presence of Manasa Prasad Mishra, director (Project & Technical) & director (Finance) of Nalco.
The objective of the interactive session was to spread awareness on ‘E-Shram Card’ and National Database of Unorganised Workers through E-Shram Portal. During the session the participants were informed regarding various benefits of registration in the E-Shram portal and the process of registration in the portal. About 40 participants from various organisations like Nalco, IOCL, Powergrid, SBI, TFL, OIL, BPCL, OMC, NTPC, MCL, GAIL, HPCL, AAI, NABARD, HPCL AIIMS including representatives of various Unions attended the awareness session.
D.P.S. Negi sensitized the HR representatives and Unions to percolate down and sensitize others for spread of awareness to cover all such uncovered workers under the social security umbrella coverage and take assistance of the Dy. CLC(C) office in case any assistance is required for the matter.
The session was coordinated by the Human Resource Department of Nalco. It may be noted that E-Shram portal was launched in the month of August this year by the Government of India. It is a concrete step towards generating a comprehensive database for unorganised workers from different sectors like construction, apparel, manufacturing, fishing, gig and platform work, street vending, domestic work, agriculture and allied, transport sector and similar sectors.
