Bhubaneswar : Odisha chief minister Mohan Majhi Tuesday pitched four mega highway projects costing a total of Rs 13,900 crore before the Centre.
Majhi, who met the union highway minister Nitin Gadkari, proposed for upgrading the present four-laned Bhubaneswar -Puri highway into six-lane with service roads. The 60-km long highway project will entail an investment of Rs 1,800 crore.
The 200-km Chandikhol-Badbil NH will cost about Rs 10,000 crore while 54-km Khorda -Nayagarh NH has been estimated at Rs 1,100 crore and 47*km Kesinga-Junagah Rs 1,000 crore.
Majhi said that the union minister has agreed to take up the projects.
Odisha works minister Pruthiviraj Harichandan and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
