Bhubaneswar: UCO Bank executive director VN Kamble Monday said that banks in Odisha have achived 49.34% of Annual Credit Plan target for 2024-25 by the end of September 30, 2024.

Kamble, while addressing the 177th State Level Bankers’ Committee meeting, held here today, advised the bankers to achieve 100% of the Rs 1.11 trillion annual target by the end of the current fiscal.

Presiding over the meeting Odisha development commissioner Anu Garg urged the bankers to expedite loan disbursement as the State is aiming to be a developed State by 2036. She said the loan disbursement should commensurate with the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP).

The development commissioner who is also the additional chief secretary advised the bankers to enhance loan disbursement in priority sectors like agriculture, MSME, housing, education and exports.

RBI regional director Sarada Prasad Mohanty stressed on time bound disbursement of loans.

Principal secretary finance Saswat Mishra urged the bankers to focus on prpgrammes like PMEGP, PM Mudra, Stand up India, PM Swanidhi. He also stressed on improvement in Claim Settlement Ratio (CSR) in social security schemes like PMJJB and PMSBY.

The 177th SLBC hailed the bankers role financial inclusivity and the RBI role in financial literacy in the State.

SBI CGM Dinesh Purty, UCO Bank GM and convenor of SLBC Gautam Patra, and director Pragyansmita Sahu were present.
