Bhubaneswar: ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India), one of the leading steelmakers of the country, won the Special Jury Appreciation Award in Mega Enterprise Category for promoting education by the leading industry body Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in a function organised recently in Kolkata.
AM/NS India received the appreciation for its CSR project, ‘Digital Pathashala.’ Through the ‘Digital Pathashala’ project, e- smart classrooms have been set up in more than 100 government schools across Odisha, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Chattisgarh.

AM/NS India has adopted an innovative approach by integrating Artificial Inteligence (AI) into the education sector to enhance learning experiences and empower students The project creates an engaging and immersive en vironment for students by transforming traditional classrooms into dynamic hubs of learning equipped with multimedia content, interactive modules, and collaborative tools.
Dr. Vikas Yadvendu, Head CSR, AM/NS India received the award from L Prabhakar, Executive Vice President & Head – Social Investments, ITC Limited and Saikat Basu, CEO, Consultivo during the 7th ICC Social Impact Awards 2025 organised by ICC.
This year 36 corporates had applied for the 7 ICC Social Impact Awards under various categories like education, health, environment.
Through the ‘Digital Pathashala” project, AM/NS India strives to bridge the gap between education and employability by promoting digital literacy and ensuring access to modern digital learning tools. The company is creating a better learning environment that has led to increased student enrolments and lower dropout rates. The recognition by ICC is a testament to the trust and support of the communities that the company serves.
Beyond ‘Digital Pathashala,’ AM/NS India has demonstrated its dedication to education through other impactful CSR initiatives. Under its ‘Padhega Bharať project, the company has transformed more than 1,100 government and government-aided schools Additionall, through the Beti Padhao’ project, AM/NS India has awarded over 1, ,600 scholarships to meritorious girl students, enabling them to pursue higher education. To date, these initiatives have collectively empowered over 5.10 lakh students across India.
