Bhubaneswar : Odisha goverenment Thursday signed two Concessional Agreements (CA) with Adani & JSW for development of two ports on its sea coast
President of JSW Utkal Steel president Anil Kumar Singh and Gopalpur Ports Ltd. business head Sandip Jaiswal and on behalf of Odisha goverenment director Ports Padmalocan Roul signed the CAs in the presence of chief minister Mohan Majhi.

JSW Utkal Steel will develop a 52 million tonne per annum (mtpa) cargo handling capacity Jetty with an investment of Rs 2,100 crore on the Mouth of Jatadhari under Ersama tehsil of Jagatsingpur district. The port project would create employment for 3400 persons.
Similarly, the Adani owned Gopalpur Port will invest Rs 16,554 crore for expansion and modernisation of Gopalpur port to enable it to handle 50 mtpa cargo. The expansion project will creat 5000 jobs.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM said Adani Ports and JSW have world reputation in port building and steel making. These two companies would create a new era in Odisha’s Port-led Development programmes. He said Odisha is going to develop ports at Inchudi and Bahuda besides Subarnarekha and Astarang.
State commerce & transport minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena, fisheries minister Gokulananda Mallick, chief secretary Manoj Ahuja, development commissioner Ms. Anu Garg, additional chief secretary Hemant Sharma, commerce & transport principal secretary Ms. Usha Padhee and additional secretary Bidhan Roy were present.
