Bhubaneswar: Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC), a State-owned company, targets a revenue of Rs 30,000 crore from mining 50 million tonnes of minerals in fiscal 2025-26.
The Odisha chief minister, Mohan Charan Majhi, reviewed the plans and programmes of OMC at a high level meeting on Wednesday.
The meeting emphasised on production of bauxite. The bauxite raising will be doubled to 6 million tonnes in FY 27 from the current year target of 3.6 million tonnes.
The CM was appraised that the proposed OMC iron ore pellet plant would go for production in May, 2026. MECON is preparing the Techno-Economic Feasibility Report for the plant. A Special Project Committe has been formed to monitor the project.
The meeting was attended by steel& mines additional chief secretary Surendra Kumar and CM’s principal secretary Saswat Mishra.
