Bhubaneswar: A Central Agricultural University will be set up in Sambalpur.
The Odisha deputy chief minister, KV Singhdeo, Monday took a meeting of officials on the proposed University.
The proposal is to open the Central Agricultural University in Sambalpur as per the Central Agricultural University Act, 1992. It will help in producing graduates and post-graduates for global competitiveness in agriculture and allied sciences and will help in increasing productivity and developing sustainable and profitable farming systems in this sector.
“The proposed Central Agricultural University will be a game changer for Odisha – it will advance agricultural research, empower farmers and promote innovation in sustainable farming methods,” said Deputy CM Singh Deo. The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment, Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Finance Department, Sanjeeb Kumar Mishra, Fisheries and Animal Resources Development, Suresh Kumar Basith, and Vice Chancellor, OUAT, Dr. Pravat Kumar Raul.
