On Akshay Urja Diwas, we celebrate India’s unwavering commitment to renewable energy ana sustainability. The sun, our most abundant and reliable source of energy, holds the key to a cleaner and greener future. Today, through visionary initiatives like the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, this future is no longer a distant dream but a reality within the reach of every Indian household.
The PM Surya Ghar Yojana is a transformative step in In dia’s journey towards energy self-reliance,. With attractive financial support, it makes rooftop’solar affordable for common citizens. For example, a 3 kW system now comes with a ₹78,000 subsidy from the Central Government and an additional ₹60,000 subsidy from the Government of Odisha. Such unprecedented support ensures that families can enjoy the benefits of clean, renewable energy while reducing their dependence on conventional grid power.
Odisha, known for its natural resources and resilience, is emerging as a solar-centric and sustainability-promoting state. From industries to households, the shift towards solar energy reflects our collective determination to fight climate change, reduce carbon emissions and build an energy-secure tomorrow. With abundant sunshine through out the year, Odisha is uniquely positioned to lead this green energy movement. To make this vision a reality, the government has launched the Utility-Led Aggregation (ULA) model under the PM Surya: Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. Through the ULÁ scheme, domestic consumers with 1 kW contract demand can now install rooftop solar systems on their homes with minimal financial burden. Backed by Central and State Government subsidies, a consumer contributes only ₹5,000 plus the cost of a generation meter, while enjoying up to 100 units of clean green electricity every month. With five years of free maintenance and a system lifespan of over 25 years, this is not only a financial saving but also a long-term investment in sustainability.
Odisha’s future shines bright with the promise of solar power. Each rooftop that adopts solar energy is a step towards energy independence, a reduction in carbon footprint and a greener tomorrow for our children.
At TPCODL, we are proud to be at the forefront of this change- facilitating, supporting and ensuring that every consumer has the opportunity to embrace solar energy with confidence.
On this Akshay Urja Diwas, let us recognize that sustainability is no longer a choice but a shared responsibility. By embracing initiatives like the PM Surya : Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and the ULA model in Odisha, we can turn our homes into power houses, our state into a leader in renewable energy and our nation into a beacon of sustainable progress.
