Cuttack: Sri Sri University hosted Finomena-2017, the 4th national conclave of the university on the theme ‘Finance in VUCA world’. The associate vice president & head technical and derivatives of Motial Oswal Securities, Chandan Taparia, graced the conclave as chief guest. Senior consultant and programme director of International Solar Alliance Rakesh Kumar, and senior general manager (finance) of Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Ltd.(Optcl) were guests of honour of the occasion. The market experts interacted with the students and replied to questions ranging from basic accounting concepts to complex market computations and issues involving risk management and fintech.
University vice chancellor prof. Nand Lal, director operations Narendra Lamba , dean of commerce and management studies prof P. Srinivas Subbarao, and executive registrar Dr. Prasanna Kumar David also graced the inaugural session of the conclave.
There were three technical sessions and presentations were made by 8 teams from the university and one participation team by students from Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore. The topics included block chain technology, fintech , risk management and portfolio management and hedging strategies. The faculty mentors for the event were Dr.Vijaya Batth and Mr. Binodgopal Mukherjee.
