Bhubaneswar: ArcelorMittal Nippon Stee india (AMNS India) observed National Pollution Prevention Day at its Paradeep and Dabuna Plant with awareness sessions and plantation programmes, reaffrming its commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.

At Paradeep Pellet Plant the programme was graced by Shri Puskar Chandra Behera, Regional Office, State Pollution Control Board (SPCB), Paradeep as the Chief Guest,along with Dibyalochan Mohapatra, Environment Engineer, SPCB, Paradeep, and officials of AM/ NS India including Shri C.H. Hariprasad, Plant Head, Paradeep Pellet Plant, SPL, AM/NS Ports, Rajarsh Sinha, Head-Captive Power Plant, Paradeep, Suvendu Kumar Dash, Head-Environment, Odisha, Debadatta Das, Manager-Environment, Paradeep Pellet Plant. Over 100 employees and partners also joined on the occasion.

On the occasion, Puskar Chandra Behera, emphasized the importance of pollution prevention as a responsibility to safeguard future generations. Dibyalochan Mohapatra had some thoughtful reflections on the significance of the day’s observance. C.H. Hariprasad highlighted the adoption of advanced technologies by AM/NS India to reduce its pollution footprint while Rajashri Sinha outlined key initiatives ndertaken at the power plant to minimize emissions. Suvendu Kumar Dash, reflected on the lessons from the Bhopal Gas Tragedy and stressed the urgency of reducing pollution to protect human civilization.

The event culminated in a plantation drive within the plant premises, where dignitaries and employees participated enthusiastically, symbolizing collective responsibility towards a greener futureAn awareness session was also conducted at the Dabuna Beneficiation Plant with a focus on sustainability and workplace excellence. The session also emphasized the importance of adopting sustainable practices to ensure long-term environmental responsibility with active participation of employees and associates.
