Barbil: ArcelorMlittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India), celebrated 27th Mines & Mineral Conservation Week (MEMC) 2025-26 at its Thakurani and Ghoraburhani Sagasahi Mines, under the aegis of Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM), Bhubaneswar region. The weeklong programme aligned with the theme of MEMC Week for this year – “Digital Mining – Transforming Today, Sustaining Tomorrow.

About 87 mines of large and small category comprising of iron ore, manganese, bauxite, chromite, graphite, limestone and semi-precious stones in Odisha participated in the weeklong celebrations.

Deepak Ranjan, DGM, Mining, OMC, Convenor of the MEMC 2025-26 along with Deepak Acharya (Geology), Tata Steel, Karunakar Das, Deputy Manager (Mines), OMC, Ms. Smrutirekha Patra, Mining Engineer, IMFA inspected and evaluated Thakurani Mines including surrounding en vironment and mineral conservation.

Similarly,Sushant Biswal, Head-Geology & Environment, FACOR, along with Bikram Keshari Tanti, Sr. Manager, Geology, OMC, Dasarathi Behera, Mines Manager, YAZDANI Steel & Power, Ms. Sangita Behuria, Dy. Manager, Geology, OMC, inspected Ghoraburhani Sagasahi Mines.
