Baragada: TP Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL) Sunday commissioned a 33/11 kV Power Sub-station (PSS) at Panchayat College, Baragada.

The 10 MVA capacity facility, equipped with 2×5 MVA power transformers, was dedicated to the public by the Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo in the Baragada MP Pradeep Purohit, Baragada MLA Aswin Kumar Sarangi, Atabira MLA Nihar Ranjan Mahanand, Bijepur MLA Sanat Kumar Gartia, MLA Irasis Acharya, District collector Aditya Goel, Police SP Rabindra Nath Satapathy, and TPWODL CEO Parveen Verma.
The Deputy CM Singhdeo said, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, stated, ” Another such Power Sub-Station is also set to be inaugurated in the coming days. Once both substations become operational, the district’s power distribution network will be significantly strengthened, enhancing service reliability and supporting the growing electricity needs of the people.”
Developed with an investment of nearly ₹16.59 crore, the newly commissioned sub-station will directly benefit more than 4000 consumers, including domestic and commercial establishments across Baragada Town, Panchayat College area, Dipali Talkies area, Kali Mandir area, and other adjoining urban localities.
Parveen Verma, CEO, TPWODL, said, “The commissioning of the new facility will substantially reduce the load on existing 11 kV feeders, improve the voltage profile, minimise outages, and enhance the overall reliability of the distribution network. It will also provide greater operational flexibility through feeder bifurcation and load shifting, while creating additional network capacity to meet the future urban expansion and commercial growth of Baragada.”
