A memorable musical evening celebrating the timeless legacy of the legendary playback singer Mohammed Rafi was organised by the esteemed cultural organisation “The Evergreen”. The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Trustees and the Chief Guest, Jnanpith Laureate Dr. Pratibha Ray, setting a graceful and inspiring tone for the evening.
In her address, Dr. Ray applauded The Evergreen for its unwavering commitment to preserving and promoting India’s rich musica neritage. She eloquently reflected on the enduring power of music to heal, inspire, and nurture mental well-being, emphasizing its profound influence on the human spirit.
The evening unfolded as a fitting tribute to the maestro, featuring 35 of Mohammed Raf’s immortal melodies before a packed and appreciative audience.I had the privilege of rendering some of my favourite Rafi classics, making the occasion especially meaningful and memorable for me. The warmth and enthusiasm of the audience transformed the programme into a heartfelt celebration of one of India’s greatest musical legends.
