Burla (Sambalpur): TP Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL) has crossed the significant milestone of 50,000 rooftop solar installations, with cumulative installations reaching 57,282 across its nine-district revenue area in Western Odisha. The installations have been achieved under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana and TPWODL’s ULA Model, reinforcing the company’s commitment to accelerating rooftop solar adoption, expanding access to clean energy and supporting India’s transition towards a sustainable energy future.
TPWODL CEO Parveen Verma said, “Crossing 50,000 rooftop solar installations is a significant milestone in Western Odisha’s clean energy journey. Our record monthly performance reflects growing consumer confidence in rooftop solar and the impact of making clean energy more accessible and affordable. We remain committed to enabling more households to participate in India’s clean energy transition.”
Bargada and Nuapada have emerged as the leading contributors to this achievement, recording 10,634 and 10,457 rooftop solar installations, respectively. They are followed by Sundargada with 7,856 installations, Balangir with 7,577, Sambalpur with 6,574, Kalahandi with 6,529, Sonpur with 3,529, Jharsuguda with 3,148 and Deogada with 978 installations, taking the cumulative total to 57,282 installations across the nine districts.
Further expanding access to rooftop solar, TPWODL has introduced its 1 kW ULA Model, under which eligible households can install rooftop solar by paying only ₹1,875. TPWODL undertakes the complete installation process and provides a five-year warranty on equipment along with a 25-year performance warranty on solar panels, ensuring greater reliability and hassle-free operation for consumers.
