Bhubaneswar: National Fisheries Cooperative Federation (Fishcopfed-India) president T Prasad Rao Dora has been elected as the new vice-chariman of the International Fisheries Cooperative Federation.
This is for the first time an Odia become the vice-chairman of the international fisheries body. He is also the first president of Fishcopfed-India to become the vice-chairman of the International Fisheries Cooperative Federation.
Dora, who is also the president of Fishfed- Odisha, got elected to the global body at the International Fisheries Cooperative Federation’s global conference and general assembly conference which was conducted by International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) at Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday, said a spokesperson of Fishfed-Odisha, here on Firday.
The International Fisheries Cooperative Federation is dedicated to the development of fisheries cooperatives around the world.
“It is a great honour”, Dora told India Whispers over telephone. ” I will work sincerely for the development of fisheries activities in the cooperative sector in India and also in the world”, he added.
