Bhubaneswar: Odisha chief minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik saw dalit empowerment in India in the rise of NDA’s presidential candidate Ram Nath Kovind.

Patnaik has tweeted soon after the meeting with Kovind, “Sir Kovindji symolyses a new and aspiring India. His journey reposes faith in our constitution’s guarantee to every citizen to dream big irrespective of caste, creed or religion.

Earlier, Patnaik introduced the NDA’s presidential candidate to his party MPs and MLAs at a meeting in the conference hall of the state assembly.

“We are privileged to support the candidature of Shri Kovindji for the President of India,” Patnaik said while introducing Kovind .”His journey from humble beginnings at a village in north India to being a candidate for the highest office in the country is a true reflection of the transition of modern India,” he added.

Patnaik said, born in a small village in Uttar Pradesh, Kovind rose to great heights as advocate on Record in the Supreme Court, a reputed leader in the Upper House of Parliament and the Governor of Bihar.
