Bhubaneswar: The Odisha chief minister, Naveen Patnaik, has directed his officers to ensure ‘zero tolerance policy’ to make the administration free of corruption.
Naveen, while reviewing the implementation of various welfare schemes, here on Monday, said that corruption is the biggest enemy of development. The officials have to ensure that a poor person be deprived his rights because of corruption.
He said that the schemes and programmes like ICDS(integrated child development scheme) ,rural housing scheme, Niramaya Yojna(free medicine to patient), Mamata Yojana are be in the focussed areas,
Naveen has constituted an oversight committee under the chairmanship of chief secretary AP Padhi to supervise the anti- corruption initiatives. Similay committees at district and block level would be added soon to the list.
Ever since the chief minister expressed his concern for PC, the state vigilance directorate has become vary active in the rural areas to prove that he is indispensable . Out of 560 complaints received raids were conducted in 197 cases and cases were filed in 38 cases.
