Bhubaneswar: “Skilled-in-Odisha” is going to be positioned as a global brand in coming years, said the chief minister, Naveen Patnaik.
“ Our skill development Mission aims to make ‘Skilled-in- Odisha’ a brand across the globe”, Patnaik asserted while inaugurating the Facebook Workshop for Mission Shakti, here on Thursday. He said that the state government’s partnership with the Facebook is going to reduce the digital divide and empower nearly 25,000 entrepreneurs and SHGs over the next one year. According to him, the workshop aims at empowering entrepreneurs and Self-help Groups(SHGs) in digital marketing skills
Emphasizing that the MSME sector plays a major role in bringing about the inclusive and equitable growth which is the focus of the state government, the chief minister said, the workshop will be beneficial to both urban and rural entrepreneurs.
Stating that women empowerment has been close to his heart, Naveen said over 50 lakh women have become members of Mission Shakti started by the state government in 2001.
MSME minister Prafulla Samal, chief secretary AP Padhi, development commissioner, R Balakrishnan, MSME additional chief secretary, LN Gupta, and Facebook policy programme manager, India & South Asia, Rajat Arora, Mission Shakti director Sujata R KaKarthikeyan and Odisha Skill Development Authority chairman Subroto Bagchi were present.
