Bhubaneswar:The Naveen Patnaik government in Odisha is soon going to launch Biju Yuva Sashastikaran Yojana on Youth Connect and Engagement to reach out to the youth across the state.
‘Odisha State Youth Policy 2013’ has been hailed as one of the best youth policies in the country,” said the chief minister adding, ‘ Building upon this policy, we will be launching new schemes namely, Biju Yuva Sashastikaran Yojna.’
Patnaik was addressing after presentation of Biju Krida Puraskar here on Tuesday.
Stating that Odisha is emerging as a sports powerhouse in the country, the chief minister said, the government is planning to set up a sport city in Bhubaneswar with world class infrastructure. Besides, integrated sport complexes have also been planed to be established in major cities like Cuttack, Berhampur, Rourkela, Jeypore and Sambalpur with an initial outlay of Rs96 crore under SWARNA scheme. An additional Rs 15 lakh would be provided to each of 150 blocks where Krida Vikash Kendra would come up with a mini-stadium, he added.
The Biju Sport Award giving ceremony was also addressed by the state sports and youth affairs minister, Chandra Sarathi Behera, sports secretary Vishal Dev and sports director Vineel Krishna.
