Bhubaneswar: The 7th Pay Commission announcement, the Puja sentiment combines with the GST destocking pushed the state’s tax collections to 18.16% in July-September quarter of 2017-18 as compared to 10.08% achieved during the same quarter last fiscal. The total tax and non tax collection increased by 36.73% to Rs 17389.11 crore against Rs 12903 crore collected during the Q2 of the last fiscal. While the total tax collections registered a growth of 38.44% to Rs 13899.82 crore against Rs 10040.37 crore, non tax mobilisation increased by 21.87 % to Rs 3489.29 crore in Q2 of 2017-18 against Rs 2863.03 crore achieved during the same quater last fiscal. The VAT/SGST/ IGST collections has registered a growth of 65.13% against 2.52% during the same quater last year. The excise duty collections has gone up by 7.31% non ferrous mining 43.93% .
Real estate activity and forest revenue remained subdued during the quarter. While the land revenue registered a negative growth of 31.47%, the stamp registration too remained negative at 45.97%. Similarly, the revenue from forest plunged by a staggering 80.28% during the quarter.
