Bhubaneswar: Odisha Revenue Services Association (Orsa) has condemned the attacks of revenue officers in different parts of the state.
The newly executive body of the Orsa, which met here on Sunday, expressed its concern over the attack on Tangi tehsildar. The stone mafias attacked the tehsildar when he raided the illegal stone quarry in his tehsil on Satuday. The attackers tried to kill the tehsildar by running over truck over him.
The Orsa president Purandar Nanda and general secretary Sitansu Sekher Samal said that earlier the sand and stone mafias had attacked revenue services officers in Jatni, Baragarh and Baripada.
The executive committee decided to strengthen the association activities in the grass root level by constituting association bodies in the district level.
The executive body demanded that the government should come out with the promotion list immediately. It also also decided to take up the matter of pay anomalies with the government.
Joint secretary Sambit Satpathy and public relation officer Soumyashri Panigrahi also spoke.
