Bhubaneswar: The Odisha chief minister, Naveen Patnaik, Thursday said that the state is getting ready to implement an ambitious Liver Transplant Programme soon. For this all requisite infrastructure, equipment and trained manpower is being organized, he said adding that all advanced endoscopic procedures are being done by the gastroenterologist of the state.
Patnaik, while inaugurating the 58th annual conference of the Indian Society of Gastroenterologists (ISG), here on Thursday, urged the delegates to focus on common gastro-intestinal ailments affecting the people. The delegates should also share the newer techniques in advanced treatments in the field in order to make them more affordable and accessible to the people at large, he added.
