Bhubaneswar: The Odisha governor, Dr.SC Jamir, Monday appointed Prof. Atal Chaudhuri as the new vice-chancellor of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Burla.
Dr. Jamir, who is also the chancellor of the VSSUT, has made the appointments in exercise of the powers conferred by Sub section (1) and (5) of Section 11 of the Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology Act, 2008 for a period of three years.
Prof. Chaudhuri is presently serving as professor in Computer Science & Engineering department of Jadavpur University, Kolkata.
Prof. Chaudhuri, master degree holder in engineering from Jadavpur University and Ph.D (Engineering) from the same University, has 32 years of teaching experience. He has co-authored 17 out of 125 publications of research papers to his credit. He guided 11 scholars to their Ph.D degree and another three have been submitted.
