Cuttack: The Odisha chief minister, Naveen Patnaik, Sunday Madhusudan Setu- the 3.13 km long bridge over river Mahanadi connecting Cuttack with Choudwar and Dhenkanal.
The bridge connecting Cuttack, Nuapatna in Choudwar and Dhenkanal has been constructed at expenses of Rs 150 crore.
The chief minister said that the bridge has been constructed at cost of Rs 150 crore, entirely from state’s own resources. It will reduce the distance between Cuttack and Dhenkanal by 16 km and the devotees can visit Lord Dhabaleswar shrine comfortably.
He said, “I have been laying emphasis on the infrastructure development. Total 318 mega bridges have been constructed during 17 year-rule of the BJD government. In the past three years, 108 bridges out of which seven have been built on the Mahanadi River. The construction work of five bridges is in progress on the River.
Total 25,000-km road has been constructed across the state by the year 2016-17. Recently, Biju Expressway connecting Rourkela and Sambalpur was inaugurated.
