Bhubaneswar: Odisha governor Satya Pal Malik Wednesday approved pre-mature release of 24 life convicts to give them an opportunity to become sociable human being for the remaining period of their life.
The governor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him under Article 161 of the Constitution of India, gave approval to premature release of 24 life convicts. Governor acted on the recommendation of the State Sentence Review Board and the state government.
