Bhubaneswar: Odisha governor Satya Pal Malik Wednesday told the vice chancellors to focus on quality education and research and to ensure that students develop a spirit of innovation and acquire employable skills. The governor who is the chancellor was interacting with his vice chancellors. He was appraised about the functioning of their universities by the respective vice chancellors. This was first meeting between the chancellor Malik and the vice chancellors after the former assume charge of governor in the state.
The governor also interacted with heads of different voluntary organizations when they called on him in Raj Bhavan today. He also met state functionaries of different voluntary organizations under his control . The state branch of Indian Red Cross Society, Bharat Scouts and Guides and St. John Ambulance presented a brief account of their activities and programmes. While appreciating their activities the governor urged upon them to continue the good work and render dedicated and commendable service.
