Bhubaneswar: CESU, the retail power distribution company (Discom) in Odisha’s central region, has collected Rs 2974.58 crore in the financial year 2017-18 which is Rs 192.11 crore more than the previous year’s collection of 2782.47 crore. The revenue growth is 7% in 2017-18 over the previous year.
Interestingly, the revenue collection growth has come from LT consumers as there is a fall in HT and EHT consumers. With focus on collections on LT sector, the Discom has mopped up Rs 1587.98 crore, which is Rs 113.98 crore more than the last fiscal.
CESU, which as over 22.29 lakh customers spreading in districts of Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Angul, Dhenkanal, Puri, Khorda, Nayagarh and Jajpur, has strengthened its revenue collections and customer service systems with proper supervision by the CESU chairman Hemanta Sharma, CEO Md. Sidique Alam and other senior level officials.
A CESU spokesperson said that the Discom has taken various novel steps in the field of digital payment, computerized grievances redressal system, infrastructure, installation of new transformers and line online power management system for the benefit of its valued customers .
