Bhubaneswar; Farmers in India are going to demonstrate in a different way this time to press for their various demands.
The farmers in the country would not send their produce to the cities for ten days from June 1-10. They would not also come to the cities for the ten days.
About 110 farmers organizations have come together to give a call for a ‘Village Bandh’ from June 1-10. The farmer’s boycott of the cities during this period is part of the Bandh call.
In Odisha too the farmers are going to join the Village Bandh agitation.
As the farmers are not going to supply food grains, vegetables, milk, fruits to the cities, there would be a crisis of shortage of these items and subsequent price rise. Moreover, as the farmers are not going to visit the cities during this ten days, the economic activities of the cities would slow down.
“There would be a virtual rural-urban divide during this ten days”, said Amiya Patnaik, Odisha Congress Krushak Cell president.
