Bhubaneswar:Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Ltd.(OPTCL), the state-owned utilities has become a champion in the country. The System Availability of OPTCL is 99.99% which is highest in the country. OPTCL is front runner in the country in implementing high-end technologies in power sector like Smart Grid, Gas Insulated Substation (GIS), SCADA and Advanced Metering Infrastructure.

The Odisha chief minister, Naveen Patnaik, Monday urged the new recruits to work to provide quality power round the clock to the people in the state. He advised them to follow 3-T( team work, technology and transparency) while discharging their duties.

The state energy secretary who is also the OPTCL chairman, Hemanta Sharma, said that the utility is currently implementing state-funded Rs 3843 crore Odisha Distribution System Strengthening Project (ODSSP) in the state. The implementation  of the project has brought in visible improvement in voltage quality, he added. According to him, the Grid Network in the state has reached 144.

Energy minister Sushant Singh and OPTCL director HRD  Rajendra Senapati also spoke on the occasion.
