Bhubaneswar: The number of vacancies in the state government has come down from 1,41,484 in March 2011 to 1,31,518 as on March 2018. It had gone up to 1,47,522 by March 2015. The sanctioned strength of regular government job is 4,97,257 while the sanctioned strength of grant-in- aid post is 85,764.
The state government has informed the state assembly in response to a question by BJP member Dilip Ray regarding vacancy positions in the state government.
Out of the 1,31,518 posts including 11,006 grant-in-aid posts laying vacant in the state government, the number of vacancies in Group A is 6622, Group B 25231, C 63733, and Group D 22,926. The total vacancies in Group A,B,C and D 1,20,512. The highest number of vacancies are in School & Primary Education 30,299 followed by Home16,731, Health 16071, Revenue 7390, Forest, Water Resources 6,158 .
