Bhubaneswar: India defeated South Africa by 5-0 in the Hockey World Cup 2018 in the opening day match, here on at the Kalinga Stadium on Wednesday. India, the World No.5 will meet World No.3 Belgium in their second Pool C match on December 2, 2018.
In the second match that was played today between India and South Africa, the host team made a clean sweep with three field goals and two penalty corners. India lead the match with Mandeep Singh scoring the first goal in the 10th minute. Then Akashdeep scored the second goal in the 12th minute. Simranjeet Singh slammed two goals at 43rd and 46th minute, while Lalit Upadhyay at 45th minute.
