Bhubaneswar: The state energy principal secretary, Hemanta Sharma, Friday said that the state has achieved 100% house hold electrification by December 2018.
Sharma, while chairing the 16 Grid Co-ordination Committee meeting of the power utility concerns, here on Friday, said that the remaining 24 lakh households in the state has been electrified between December 2017 and December 2018.
The principal secretary who is the also the chairman of Gridco and distribution companies emphasized on improvement in power generation, conservation and distribution in the state. He also discussed about the optimum utilization of power from Machkund hydel power station and generation from Balimela hydel station while stressing the need for better co-ordination with Andhra Padesh for sharing of power from Machkund station.
Gridco director commerce Manas Kumar Dash, CESU CEO Mohammed Siddik Alam OPTCL director operation Uttam Kumar Samal, OPTCL CGM Bijaya Kumar Sahoo, GCC Chairman Shankar Prasad Padhi were present.
