Criticising the ruling BJD in Odisha, he said that the state is depriving poor people from free treatment in hospitals by not joining the Centre’s Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. He urged the state government to immediately participate in the world’s largest health insurance scheme. Referring to the recent lower court verdict in case of a rape and murder case in Pipili in Puri district, the prime minister advised the state government to further investigate the case to punish the culprits in the case.
Earlier in the day the prime minister launched a slew of projects. Projects worth Rs 4,500 crore in railway line, gas pipeline, National Highways, and Multi-Modal Container Depot.
