Bhubaneswar: The State Procurement Cell (SPC) of Odisha has been applauded with Best Performer Award for the year 2017-18 at National Workshop on Central Public Procurement Portal held at New Delhi recenty. The state has got this award for its performance in online procurement through e-procurement portal.

The chief secretary, AP Padhi, while congratulating the Works Department at a high-level review meeting, here on Wednesday, directed the department to expedite the integration of recently rolled out Contractor Data Base Management System(CDMS) portal with two other online portals namely e-procurement portal and Works and Accounts Management Information System (WAMIS) portal. Such integration will help online technical evaluation of tender papers along with capacity and performance assessment of the bidders. This will also reduce the time required for finalization of the tender process. NIC was asked to complete the process of integration by March 31, 2019.

The Works secretary, Nalini Kanta Pradhan, said, ” The CDMS Phase-I has been rolled out. This phase provide for online registration of the contractors uploading of their technical and financial capacity and their performance. This phase also provide for online issue of the contractor licenses, renewals, change of class and category convesion.

Review showed that so far 30,000 active contractors have registered in e-portal . Out of them 23,679 contractors have already been registered in CDMS portal. Around 15600 contractors have submitted their applications to respective license issuing authorities out of which around 15000 applications have been validated by the authorities. A total number 596 new license have issued, 58 renewals have been approved and 94 applications for change of category

Principal secretary water resources Pradeep Kumar Jena, Rural Development Dr Mona Sharma, Panchayati Raj Deo Ranjan Kumar Singh, secretary energy Hemanta Sharma , I & PR secretary Sanjya Singh were present in the review meeting.
