Bhubaneswar: Former minister and BJD MLA Praveen Bhanjdeo has resigned from BJD. Praveen, the party’s Mayurbhanj district president has submitted his papers on Sunday with the party president Naveen Patnaik.
The BJD MLA has resigned from the party’s district president as well as primary membership the party. He, however, not cited any reason for his quitting the party.
Praveen was unhappy with the style of functioning of the BJD for quite some time. Though he was made the BJD district president, two working presidents were appointed immediately. Not only that the Mayurbhanj district was virtually controlled by Arun Sahu, district in-charge and two coastal district MLAs Pranab Balabantray and Uma Kanta Samantray.
Praveen, who is the scion of the erstwhile royal family of Mayurbhanj, had joined the party in 2009 and got elected from the Morada assembly constituency in Mayurbhanj. He was sports and youth affairs minister in the Naveen’s cabident in his first stint in the assembly.
