Bhubaneswar: The summer internship placement process of the MBA-BM batch of 2018-2020 at Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) concluded with the batch of 364 students being successfully placed.
It is a diverse batch with 60% of the batch having prior work-experience in IT/ITES, 18% in Consulting, 12% in BFSI, 4% each in both Automotive and Manufacturing. It has an average work-experience of 18.9 months and contains 82% students with graduation in B.E./B.Tech., 3% in B.A., 7% in B.Com. With increasing gender diversity, this year the scales have tilted with the batch comprising of 32% females and 68% males.
A total of 104 companies offered internships with 25% in manufacturing, 18% each in FMCG and IT/ITES/Analytics, 15% in Consulting, and 12% in BFSI. The highest stipend is Rs.3lakhs while the median stipend is Rs.40,000 and average stipend is Rs.61,000. The sector wise student placement is such that 7% of the batch is placed in operations, 20% in IT/ITES/Analytics, 12% in BFSI, 40% in FMCG, 11% in Consulting and 10% in miscellaneous sectors.
