Paradip: Paradip Port has achieved a new feat by successfully completing movement of 30 vessels within 24 -hours on May 27,2019. . The vessels includes 10 incoming, 9 outgoings, 3 shifting and 8 shipping support vessels. This kind of shipping movements is enormously contributing to enhance the cargo throughout of the Port. At present, 39 vessels are still awaiting at the anchorage to enter the harbour.
The previous record stood at 27 vessels handed in a day on October 15,2018
The record achievement could be accomplished by the harbour master and marine pilot under the guidance of deputy conservator of the Port captain Atulya Kumar Moahapatra. Shipping agents, exporters and importers and the co-operation extended by the port’s traffic deparment also chippped in. Traffic Deptt.
Paradip Port is now gearing up to enhance the cargo throughput as it is vying for the coveted top position in the country with a slew of other infrastructure and modernisation facilities of the Port. Last fiscal, it clocked 109.27 million tonnes cargo handling mark and secured 2nd position among the Major Ports of India. This fiscal, it is aiming for 120 mt cargo handling mark.
