Bhubaneswar: Ariculture minister Arun Kumar Sahoo has directed the senior officers to visit the districts allotted to them and supervise the programme implementation in their respective district.
The state government has assigned 10 senior officers to visit 3 districts each during June 2019.
Sahoo, who chaired a review meeting , here on Monday, said the that government is implementing a good numbers of schemes and programmes for the benefit of farmers to improve the status of farmers and agriculture in the state. There is need to supervise these schemes and programmes at the field level by senior officers.
The minister also said that besides field visit, the concerned officer should discuss with field officers and workers so as to find out the difficulties in proper implementation of programmes and guide them suitably. “They should start the visit from June and submit report immediately after completion of the visit”, he added.
Sahoo said that the directorates under the agriculture department should also nominate its senior officers to visit district and supervise the programme implementation related to the concerned directorates in the district. It may be pointed out that the directors of agriculture & food production, horticulture and soil conservation & watershed appraised the minister about different schemes and programmes implemented by the respective directorates in the review meeting.
