Cuttack : The DGP, RP Sharma, has directed the Human Rights Protection Cell(RHPC) to probe into the incident that lead to mob attack on the Baliapal IIC on Friday.
A DGP office spokesperson told India Whispers that following the directive a police team headed by RHPC DSP Ranjit Naik have already left for Baliapal for investigation into the whole affairs which led to the Friday incident.
Following the death of a minor boy in Rajdhani Dhaba under Baliapala police station in Balasore district, there was commotion among the people. In this connection a case of murder was registered on the complaint filed by the mother of the deceased boy Shantilata Dalei. Police conducted inquest and sent the body of the boy for post mortem examination.
There was a public outrage over the issue and the IIC become the victim of the mob violence.
“Considering the gravity of the case and for free, fair and impartial enquiry, Dr RP Sharma, DGP has directed State Human Rights Protection Cell (HRPC) to take up investigation of the case”, said the spokesperson.
In the mean time, IIC Baliapala has been shifted and Inspector Ranjit Kumar Sahu has joined as new IIC Baliapala police station.
