New Delhi: Girija Prasad Gupta has taken over as the new Comptroller & Auditor General (CAG) of India, here on Thursday.
Gupta, a 1983-batch Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS) officer, has vast experience in working in Central government being posted in Central Board of Direct Taxes(CBDT), ministry of finance, rural development. He was director National Institute of Financial Management(NIFM) and Bhutan Mega Joint Hydro Power Project. As additional CAG he had earned accolade for his contribution to Public Finance Management System which is being considered to be the basic principle for direct benefit transfer (DBT).
