Bhubaneswar: Odisha principal secretary for labour and ESI Anu Garg made a surprise visit of the various labour markets in Bhubaneswar. She was seen interacting with the labourers waiting for their day’s job at the Kalpana Square labour haat, one of the biggest daily labourers markets in the state, Nayapali, Nabard Square, Delta Square. She enquired about their wages and well beings and asked whether they are getting the benefit of the government sponsored welfare programmes aimed at daily labourers. The labour principal secretary also checked whether they are getting the financial benefits given by the Construction Labourers Welfare Board. Garg also took feed back about the wage requirement of the daily labourers.
The labour commissioner, Niranjan Sahu, accompanied the labour principal secretary in her visit to the labour haats.
