Bhubaneswar: Odisha police DGP Dr. RP Sharma is the new member of the State Lokayukta.
The Odisha governor Ganeshilal has approved the state government’s recommendation for appointment of Sharma as member of newly constituted Lokyukta.
Dr. Sharma has applied for voluntary retirement. He will be administered the oath of office after his voluntary retirement application was accepted by the State government.
Ajit Singh is the Lokayukta of Odisha. Singh was nominated as the chairperson of the anti-corruption quasi-judiciary body of the state by chief minister Naveen Patnaik.
Odisha is the first state to pass the Lokayukta Bill on February 14, 2019. The anti-corruption watchdog has stated functioning in the state from April 8.
