Bhubaneswar: The Odisha chief secretary, Asit Tripathy, said, “Odisha has achieved remarkable success in controlling naxalite activities.” ” The number of left wing affected districts have been reduced from 15 to 5″, he asserted.
Tripathy was talking to media persons after a high level meeting on Left wing Extremism (LWE) held here on Saturday.
Tripathy said that the work strategy for weeding out naxals from Odisha would be framed in the national level meeting scheduled to be held on August 26, 2019 at New Delhi under the chairmanship of union home minister, Amit Shah.
Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik along with other chief ministers from naxal affected States would participle in the meeting.
The chief secretary said, ” Now our focus is on expeditious implementation of devopmental programes in the areas made free of naxal effect. He emphasized on development of road connectivity, telecommunication and banking services”.
