Bhubaneswar:Odisha’s special relief commissioner and managing director of OSDMA Bishnupada Sethi will deliver the keynote address at the United Nation’s Economic & Social Commission for Asia & Pacific (ESCAP) Disaster Resilience Week, commencing from Monday at Bangkok.

Sethi, who will deliver the key note address at Bankok on the opening day on August 26 Aug, 2019, will set the tone of the week-long international event throwing light on how governments in Asia and pacific region can further cooperation in improving the disaster management systems. With this Odisha will have another foot print in disaster management at Global level. 

“The success that Odisha has achieved is not the work of a day or month but of continuous endeavor over 20 years”, said Sethi adding, “Disaster resilience can be built through ‘empowerment’, ‘inclusion’, ‘shared understanding’ and ‘joint strategic action plan’ among the nations in Asia Pacific region”.
