Bhubaneswar: Xavier School of Sustainability (XSOS) will be hosting its annual SM conclave, Parivartan’19, on Saturday. This conclave is a national level flagship event of ConXerv – Committee for Sustainability of XSOS, which brings eminent industry veterans to talk about emerging and relevant sustainability themes. The theme for the event this year is “Industry 4.0: An enabler for Corporate Sustainability?”
In the past few decades, a fourth industrial revolution has emerged, known as Industry 4.0. It takes the emphasis on digital technology from recent decades to a whole new level and offers a more comprehensive, interlinked, and holistic approach to manufacturing. It connects physical with digital, and allows for better collaboration and access across departments, partners, vendors, product and people. Industry 4.0 empowers business owners and allows them to leverage instant data to boost productivity, improve processes, and drive growth. Parivartan invites eminent speakers to discuss about the sustainability impact and challenges of Industry 4.0 from different scenarios including deployment, operation and technologies, integration and compliance with the sustainable development goals, and long-run scenarios. It also intends to create a dialogue to understand how businesses can embrace sustainability driven practices and strategies on account of Industry 4.0.
The event will be graced by four eminent speakers who shall be addressing the above-mentioned theme and imparting their knowledge to the students. The speakers include Mr. Hitesh Kataria, Manager-Group Sustainability, Mahindra & Mahindra, Mr. Ramnath Vaidyanathan, General Manager- Sustainability, Godrej Group, Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Director, Deloitte and Mr. ND Rao, Senior Vice President (Projects), JSW.
