Bhubaneswar: Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) has received the Zee Business National CSR Leadership Award for overall CSR initiatives. The Award has been conferred to OMC in gold category State PSU at the 18th Asia Pacific HRM Congress, held in Bangalore this week.
OMC is fast emerging as a front-runner in its role as a responsible corporate citizen in terms of its commitment and contribution to the socio-economic development of people in the mining regions and beyond. The Award is in recognition of its sustained efforts and significant contribution in Corporate Social Responsibility.
Under the leadership of OMC MD R Vineel Krishna the State-own mining company is striving to improve the quality of life of people. The social and human dimension of the corporation is getting visibility due to its growing CSR spend beyond mandated 2% norm, and the difference it makes to the lives of people.
Among others, some of the flagship CSR projects of OMC include development of Adarsh Vidyalaya, Multilingual education program, OMC Super program, healthcare facilities, development of Model villages with common basic facilities, ODF villages in the mining region, environmental sustainability, promotion of sports etc.
Recently OMC contributed Rs.100 Crore to Chief Ministers’ Relief Fund in the aftermath of cyclonic storm FANI. The Organization actively collaborates & partners with State Govt. in various development programmes.
