Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government is going to pose eight more urban clusters to the union ministry of rural development for development under Rurban Mission with an investment of Rs 650 crore.

The State Empowered Committee meeting, chaired by chief secretary Asit Tripathy, Tuesday decided that the eight clusters Kalimela in Malkangiri district, Komna in Nuapada, Kendujhar sadar in Keonjhar, Mohana in Gajapati, Puri sadar in Puri, Danagadi in Jajpur , Ulunda in Subarnapur, Dhakauda in Sambalpur district would be proposed to the Centre for development under Rurban Missioin.

The Committee approved detailed project report (DPR) of worth Rs700 crore for development of 9 identified Ruurban clusters under Phase II and Phase II of the Ru-urban Missioin. The State pancyati raj principal secretary Deo Ranjan Kumar Singh presented the DPRs of the projects in the meeting.

The chief secretary directed the concerned department for a third party assessment of the outcome of the works done under Phase I.

Development commissioner Suresh Mohapatra, principal secretary finance Ashok Meena, principal secretary rural development Bisnupada Sethi, secretary E& IT Manoj Mishra, State nodal officer Rurban Missioin Swyamprabha Mohanty and director rural mission Smruti Ranjan Pradhan were present.
